Helensburgh Historical Society welcomes new committee

Helensburgh & District Historical Society held our annual general meeting by Zoom on Thursday, 21 November, when we heard president Jim Powell’s report on 2024 activities.

Jim thanked the various members who contributed to a successful year. Treasurer Merilyn House skilfully explained the financial statement, and a new committee was elected for 2025.

The new committee comprises:

  • President – Jim Powell
  • Vice-President – Hal Crawford
  • Secretary – Jan Lee
  • Treasurer – Merilyn House
  • Public Officer & Project Officer – Allan House
  • Committee members – John Arney, Mary Steenson, Jenny Donohoe, Leonie McManus, Marsha Canning (Jnr).

We thank our former vice-president Dr Lorraine Jones for her contributions over the last few years, and look forward to her new book about Otford to be published next year.

Congratulations to Hal Crawford and Leonie McManus, new members of the committee.

A few local members met at Tradies Helensburgh for a meal and chat after the meeting.

The Society meetings are now in recess until February 2025, but members are still working behind the scenes. Contact us on info@historichelensburgh.org.au.
