Smooth tracks for little bikes

The Illawarra has lots of great bike and scooter tracks for kids. We all know that kids love the freedom of riding a bike but their little legs can't go very far. Not only is bike riding a fantastic life skill, it also gets them out of the house and into the fresh air to burn off that everlasting kid energy.

Below are four of the best bike tracks across the Illawarra.

1. Wollongong Harbour

A fantastic flat route that we love to take the kids is from Brighton Lawn Reserve to North Beach Kiosk. The kids start by playing at the park, then ride way too far ahead of us but it's an easy short route doing the loop and the kids are exhausted by the end. But not so exhausted we can't enjoy a donut from Yachties Cafe.

2. Bulli to Woonona Beach

Again, another easy, flat ride between two parks – Bulli Beach Reserve Playground and Nicholson Park. You can easily get the kids from one beach to another with a nice swim at the end to cool off.

3. Kiama Coast Track

Whenever we go to Kiama Seaside Markets, we always take the kids bikes/scooters and walk along the Kiama Coast Walk and back. It's a great way to keep them entertained whilst you peruse the stalls.

4. Sea Cliff Bridge

I know I always bang on about this road but it's so good! Especially for kids bike rides. Read more about my off-track adventure here.
