Plans lodged for new hall at Stanwell Park Public School

Heathcote Electorate Office media release: Wednesday, 28 April 2021

Member for Heathcote Lee Evans is pleased to announce students at Stanwell Park Public School and Engadine High School will soon be enjoying brand new halls.

Development applications for the projects were lodged with both of the local councils - Wollongong City and Sutherland Shire - on Wednesday, 28 April 2021.

Mr Evans welcomed the progress on the projects, and said he was excited to see plans for the halls progressing.

“I’m proud that the NSW Liberals & Nationals Government is delivering new halls for Stanwell Park Public School and Engadine High School. They will benefit the schools and the local communities for years to come,” Mr Evans said

The new hall at Stanwell Park Public School will accommodate a canteen, an out of school hours care facility and storage.

The multi-purpose hall at Engadine High School will provide modern new facilities including a full basketball court and storage rooms.

Minister for Education Sarah Mitchell said she was proud the NSW Government is delivering its historic school building commitment with communities receiving new and upgraded schools across the State.

“I’m thrilled these school communities are benefitting from NSW’s biggest ever investment in school infrastructure, and I can’t wait to see these hall projects progress over the coming months,” Ms Mitchell said.

Construction on both projects is scheduled to start in mid-2021.

The NSW Government is investing $7 billion over the next four years, continuing its program to deliver more than 200 new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW.  This is the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW.
