Member for Heathcote Lee Evans is pleased to advise plans are forging ahead to deliver a new school hall at Stanwell Park Public School with the project now out for tender.
Mr Evans said school halls are a natural gathering point for students and staff, and they can also be a vital part of a thriving local community.
“As part of the planning process we will look at opportunities for community use as well as the possibility of sharing some of the facilities with neighbouring schools in the area.”
“This important project was announced as an election promise and it’s fantastic to see it moving ahead with it now open for construction tender.”
“I’m excited that Stanwell Park Public School is receiving this fantastic piece of infrastructure which will include a canteen, out of school hours care facilities and storage.”
The Department of Education is working to complete the detailed hall design, award construction contracts and begin construction in 2021. Schematic designs will be shared with the local community as the project progresses.
Minister Mitchell said the NSW Government’s school building boom would continue over the next few years.
“We will continue our unprecedented investment in school infrastructure to support our students and ensure they have access to high quality education facilities.”
The NSW Government is investing $7 billion over the next four years, continuing its program to deliver more than 200 new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW. This is the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW.
