ISLHD media release: 14 September 2021
Three consecutive Super Saturday AstraZeneca vaccination events will be held at the Shoalhaven Hospital Vaccination Clinic starting this Saturday 18 September.
The goal is to provide local priority workers more opportunities to receive their vaccinations closer to home, with 100 AstraZeneca appointments available each Saturday.
Appointments will be open to all people working in healthcare, aged care, disability services, police, emergency services, education workers (across all sectors including early childhood, pre-school, school, VET, and university), port workers, and education and healthcare students.
Executive Director Nursing and Midwifery and Clinical Governance, Deborah Cameron, said now was the time to come forward and get vaccinated.
“We’re excited to be offering more opportunities for people to receive their vaccinations with our Super Saturday events across the District,” Ms Cameron said.
“We saw more than 100 Illawarra locals attend our pop-up and vaccination events on Thursday and Saturday last week, and we’re calling on all Shoalhaven priority workers to keep the momentum going.
“If you’ve already received the vaccine, you can help by spreading the word about these events - tell a friend, a family member, or a colleague, and encourage them to receive their jab as soon as possible."
AstraZeneca appointments will be offered to those aged 18 and over at the Shoalhaven Hospital Vaccination Clinic. Bookings are essential.
