Australian restaurants strive for hats rather than Michelin stars as is the case across Europe, Asia and America.
Australia’s Good Food Guide (AGFG) is our annual restaurant ratings system and is based, according to AGFG, on food alone. They are awarded through anonymous inspections, with each inspector giving a score out of 20. Customer reviews are also considered.
This week the 2024 AGFG awards were held, coinciding with the release of the SMH Good Food Guide. Here are the regional restaurants within striking distance of Wollongong who were awarded one hat:
- Babyface Kitchen – Wollongong
- Restaurant Santino – Wollongong
- South on Albany – Berry
- Bangalay Dining – Shoalhaven Heads
Restaurants with one hat score 15-15.5 out of 20.
Congratulations to all.
