Perhaps with all this talk about Japanese cuisine I have whet your appetite for authentic Japanese. Here is a list of Japanese restaurants in and around Wollongong. All offer takeaways as well as dine in.
Tsuki Dining
In Wollongong’s Crown Lane, this authentic Japanese restaurant has an extensive menu including all your favourites, like miso soup, gyoza (dumplings), kaarage chicken, tempura and teriyaki.
Roppongi
Located at the western end of Market Street, Wollongong, this restaurant specialises in traditional Japanese cuisine, including katsu curry, sushi, noodle soups and sukiyaki.
Akari
In Wollongong's Keira Street, this restaurant offers banquets for a minimum of four people. They also do a lunch special.
Fujiyama
Have you ever been to a teppanyaki restaurant? It’s a Japanese meal with a difference – the chef cooks your food BBQ style at your table as you watch, chopping, tossing, slicing and juggling. It can be messy, but is loads of fun, especially for the larger group. If this is not your style, there are other seating options available. There’s also a private room. Find it opposite the Woolworths carpark in Fairy Meadow.
