Sensational Australian pianist, Calvin Abdiel is in Wollongong with Cedar Newman for one night only - we plan to make it special.
Doors open at 6:30 pm and there will be a drink and nibbles to savor before settling in for a night of lyrical beauty and drama at 7pm.
Together they perform Franz Schubert’s 'Grand Duo' and Richard Strauss's dramatic Violin Sonata. A Haydn solo sonata for piano and Ysaÿe solo sonata for violin offers the opportunity to hear the unique voice of each performer.
Indonesian/Australian pianist Calvin Abdiel is establishing a reputation as one of the finest young international musicians. Piers Lane praised his ‘amazing musical brain and musicianship’ and ‘remarkable keyboard skills.’
He is joined by violinist Cedar Newman, 20, a President’s Scholarship student at the Manhattan School of Music New York. Her playing has been described as ‘breathtakingly virtuosic’ (H.Muse City News).
