Wollongong is set to host the 2022-23 Bowls NSW State Championships, with three clubs confirmed as host venues for the 13-day festival of bowls.
Some of the best male and female bowlers in Australia will take to the greens at Figtree Sports, Towradgi Park and Wiseman Park Wollongong City Bowling Club, all vying for a coveted state title. In an historic first for the sport, the 2022-23 Bowls NSW State Championships will have the Men’s and Women’s events conducted simultaneously and see a record 52 new state champions crowned across all disciplines!
Bowls NSW is pleased to announce Destination Wollongong as the official sponsor of the 2022-23 State Championships. General Manager of Destination Wollongong, Mark Sleigh said “We are excited to see Bowls NSW host the 2022-23 State Championships here in Wollongong! The 13-day event will make great use of three of our local bowling clubs and with mid-week visitation, be an awesome boost to our hospitality sector. Figtree Sports has been confirmed as the main host venue for the Championships and will host all finals in the Open, Senior and Reserve categories. With hundreds of bowlers competing over the 13 days, the 2022-23 State Championships promises to be bigger and better than ever, and Bowls NSW can’t wait to host the event in the heart of the Wollongong region.
