Full program for the South Coast Readers and Writers Festival 2024 has been released!

Held at the Thirroul District Community Centre and Library on 13-14 July, the festival features more than 40 guests, from award-winning authors, poets and broadcasters to talented new voices, across 22 sessions.

Hear Antony Loewenstein and Sara Saleh talk Antony’s Walkley Award-winning book on Palestine, The Palestinian Laboratory. Join Bri Lee as she discusses her debut fiction novel, The Work, with Laura Brading. Listen as Anne Manne speaks with SCWC Director Sarah Nicholson about uncovering the secrets of the Anglican diocese of Newcastle in her new book, Crimes of the Cross. Plus, sessions on crime fiction, historical fiction, poetry, the business of publishing, and more. There is something for everyone at this year’s South Coast Readers and Writers Festival.

Also part of the festival are two FREE Young Readers & Writers Sessions, featuring local writers Liv Lorkin, author and illustrator of Sage and the Journey of Grief, and Helena Fox, award-winning author of The Quiet and the Loud.

And don’t miss the festival workshop Stories Behind the Storyteller with Siobhan O’Brien, as she explores the art of using ancient myth to tell classic stories. Friday 12 July, Coledale Hall, limited tickets available.
