‘It was wonderful’: high praise for AUSTI. dancers

The young dancers of AUSTI. Dance & Physical Theatre performed three new works at the Illawarra Performing Arts Centre on Friday, June 23.  The show, titled Constant, featured choreography by Raul Rita Caballero, Timothy Farrar and Lee-Anne Litton.

A second show is on tonight, Saturday, June 24 at the same venue. After that, the dance company will be back in October  with the performance Uncoiled Unspoiled.

Four audience members at the Friday night performance gave us their verdict.

I thought it was wonderful. Fantastic. Really enjoyed it. I have to say the second piece, Move Me, was definitely the favourite. I love the movements of the dancers. I loved just the way they interacted with each other. The whole piece is just so well-choreographed and was a pleasure to watch.

I enjoyed the tyres. I thought it was a great interaction between dancer and tyres and the way the tyres moved around the stage. I thought that was quite good, very creative.

I thought it was pretty good. My sister was performing. I was quite intrigued. I thought it was quite creative. I liked the first one the best, it was suspenseful and I got a little scared, with the flashing imagery or whatever.

Dylan

It was good. The way that they told the stories through dance and they all look very talented. It was good.
